FFI World Championship – France 2015

FFI has been in discussion with Flying Fifteen France (FFF) with respect to the organisation of the 2015 Worlds following its decision at the 2013 Council meeting in Hong Kong that Hyeres in southern France was the selected venue.

FFI was advised several weeks ago by FFF that the event organiser (COYCH) in Hyeres, for reasons beyond their control, are now unable to proceed with the hosting or conduct of this World Championship.

In consultation with representatives of FFF, several alternatives have been discussed and considered, together with the timing of the event. FFF’s recommended venue is Crozon- Morgat, Brittany with CN Crozon-Morgat as the organising entity / authority.

On the 12th July 2014, FFI Commodore Greg Wells visited the venue, met with the key people from the club and the town, and inspected the onshore and on-water facilities, launching and measuring infrastructure, available accommodation, prize night venues, and discussed the many other features and personnel requirements for a successful event.

Crozon-Morgat is now the FFI and FFF preferred venue for the conduct of the 2015 FFI World Championship and the 2015 FFF Nationals (as the designated pre-worlds event) to be held over a 12/13 day window in the period of the last fortnight of August and the first week of September, 2015.

Subject to final agreement with FFF and CN Crozon-Morgat, this decision and event schedule will be confirmed with a Preliminary Notice of Race to be issued before the end of July 2014, and the official Notice of Race by the end of September 2014.
